Islamabad:The Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA) Islamabad, AJK and GB participated in an interprofessional Patient Safety Awareness Event, highlighting the importance of medication safety, patient-centred care and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
The event was organized by the Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement and Safety (RIHIS), Faculty of Rehabilitation and Allied Health Sciences (FRAHS), bringing together the themes of World Physiotherapy Day, World Patient Safety Day and World Pharmacists Day.
Held under the theme ‘Aligning Physiotherapy, Safe Medication and Patient-Centered Care – An Interprofessional Dialogue for Safer Care and Better Patient Outcomes,’ the event provided a platform for healthcare professionals, academics, regulatory stakeholders and pharmacy representatives to discuss ways to improve patient safety.
The role of pharmacists in policy development, pharmaceutical regulation, quality assurance and patient safety was also discussed during the session.
PPA representatives shared their professional insights and practical perspectives on policy development and regulatory matters, contributing to the interprofessional dialogue on safer healthcare practices.
The participants emphasized the importance of teamwork and coordination among different healthcare disciplines to promote safe rehabilitation, medication safety and patient-centred care.
The event highlighted the value of collaboration among healthcare professionals, academia, regulatory stakeholders and pharmacy leadership in strengthening patient safety and improving healthcare outcomes.
