Mirpur: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani on Monday inspected the under-construction Danish School in Bhimber and reviewed progress on the project aimed at providing quality educational facilities to children in the district. Officials briefed him on the pace of construction, educational facilities and other aspects of the scheme, informing him that 86 percent of the work had been completed and academic activities were expected to begin by February next year.
AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, ministers Col. (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Saqib Majeed and Umer Naeem, among others, were present during the visit. The prime minister said the Danish School System was an important initiative to promote quality education and expand educational opportunities for children across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Gilani thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for supporting the establishment of five Danish schools in AJK, saying the projects would create new opportunities for children to access quality education. He congratulated the Danish School System team on the progress of the Bhimber project and said the facility would provide a modern learning environment and better educational opportunities, particularly for children from middle-income families.
The prime minister said the government would continue taking measures to improve the education sector and ensure the provision of quality educational facilities to the younger generation.
He said the Bhimber Danish School was established as a special initiative of Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and would help expand access to quality education in the district. He also announced measures to address issues faced by people living adjacent to the school and directed the relevant authorities to assess their needs and take steps for their resolution.
