SUKKUR:Shikarpur police have arrested the main absconding criminal nominated in a murder case as part of an ongoing crackdown against proclaimed offenders, absconders and other wanted criminals across the district.
According to police spokesperson, the successful operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector Saeed Ahmed Aghani, Station House Officer (SHO) of Mian Jo Goth Police Station, along with his staff, under the leadership of SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem.
During the operation, police arrested Faik Jamali, the main absconding suspect nominated in the murder case.
Police said the culprit allegedly murdered his former mother-in-law, identified as Noor Bano, over a dispute arising from his wife obtaining a judicial khula (dissolution of marriage) from him.
A murder case was registered at Mian Jo Goth Police Station on the complaint of the deceased woman’s husband, Arbela Khan.
Police said further legal proceedings were underway against the arrested suspect.
SSP Muhammad Kaleem reiterated his commitment to tightening the noose around criminal elements and directed police officials to intensify efforts to trace and arrest proclaimed offenders, absconders and other outlaws wanted in criminal cases.
He emphasized that operations against criminal elements would continue across Shikarpur district to improve law and order and ensure the arrest of those involved in serious crimes.
