Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police while taking action against individual who tortured a suspect after taking the law into his own hands and apprehended both individuals after the incident.
A Police Spokesman informed here on Wednesday that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar took immediate notice of a viral social media video screening a boy being tied to a pole and assaulted over allegations of theft within the jurisdiction of the B-Section Police Station.
He ordered legal action against those involved and directed a thorough investigation into the incident.
Acting on the SSP’s orders, the B-Section police took immediate action, taking into custody Aamir Qureshi,the person who committed the assault, and Zohaib, who was accused of the theft.
During the initial investigation, the accused, Zohaib confessed to stealing a mobile phone from Aamir Qureshi’s house last night, after which he was apprehended.
According to the police, legal proceedings are also being initiated against Aamir Qureshi for taking the law into his own hands and assaulting Zohaib, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
