Islamabad:Federal police authorities have assured the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders had neither been harassed by police nor would they be subjected to harassment in future.
The court disposed of the petition after the police authorities assured that the petitioners would not be harassed.
Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas heard a petition filed against the alleged harassment of PTI leaders Malik Amir, Shoaib Shaheen and others ahead of a long march.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Qazi Ali Raza and Deputy Superintendent of Police Legal, Sajid Cheema appeared before the court pursuant to its orders.
The police officials maintained that the petitioners had not been harassed by the police and would not be harassed in future. They said that if an First Information Report was registered against any individual, legal action was taken strictly in accordance with the law. Following the assurance given by the police authorities, the court disposed of the petition.
