SARGODHA:Sahiwal Circle Police have arrested 6 suspects of 3 dangerous gangs involved in dacoity, theft, burglary and motorcycle theft besides recovering stolen goods worth more than Rs 2 crore from their possession.
Police spokesman said that Tehsil Sahiwal Police Station arrested 02 gangs involved in 97 cases of theft, robbery, cattle theft and motorcycle theft and recovered Rs. 10.9 million in cash, solar motors and inverters worth more than Rs. 2.2 million, and 10 stolen cattle worth millions of rupees from their possession.
Whereas Tarkhanwala Police Station arrested a 2-member gang wanted in 15 cases of robbery, theft and robbery and recovered Rs. 4.5 million in cash from their possession.
The arrested accused include Mubashir, Zulfiqar, Tehzeeb, Murtaza, Imran and Tauqir, against whom further legal action is being taken.The spokesman further said that during the last 3 months, Sargodha Police have been carrying out a full-scale crackdown against criminal elements across the district.
A total of more than Rs. 10.21 million worth of property has been recovered. 612 suspects arrested after recovering stolen goods. As many as 69 members of 28 organized and dangerous gangs were arrested and stolen goods worth over Rs. 16.7 million were recovered from them. 1206 wanted criminals in serious cases were also arrested.
In line with the resolve to cleanse the society of weapons and mischief culture, 430 accused were arrested and 42 Kalashnikovs, 53 rifles, 78 guns, 378 pistols and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
In operations against drug peddlers, more than 300 drug peddlers were arrested and more than 18 kg of ice, more than 2 kg of heroin, more than 60 kg of hashish and more than 5 thousand liters of alcohol were recovered from their possession
DPO Sargodha Touqeer Muhammad Naeem said that protecting the lives and property of the people and completely cleansing the society from criminal elements is their top priority. Sargodha Police are ensuring the rule of law without discrimination and there is no place for lawbreakers in the district.
