Lahore: A 67 per cent decrease in street crime incidents has been recorded in Lahore this year.
According to police records, 2,818 cases were registered during the first eight months of last year, whereas 907 incidents were reported during the same period this year.
According to police records, 352 street crime cases were registered in the City Division last year, while the figure stood at 154 this year. In the Cantt Division, 652 cases were registered last year, compared to 232 incidents reported this year.
In the Civil Lines Division, 241 street crime incidents occurred last year, while this year, the number dropped to 52. In the Saddar Division, 637 street crime incidents were reported last year, while 232 cases were registered this year.
In the Iqbal Town Division, 336 incidents occurred last year, whereas 65 street crime incidents were reported this year. In the Model Town Division, 600 street crime incidents were reported last year, compared to 172 cases registered this year.
