Sargodha: A police constable embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with a proclaimed offender within the jurisdiction of the Kot Momin police station on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson, a police team raided a hideout to arrest wanted proclaimed offender Kashif Rajput, who was sought in a murder case. Upon sighting the police party, the suspect opened fire, prompting retaliation from the law enforcement personnel.
During the shootout, Constable Fazal Ahmed sustained serious bullet injuries and was rushed to the Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim, Regional Police Officer Asif Shehzad Khan, and District Police Officer Sargodha Touqeer Muhammad Naeem paid rich tribute to Constable Fazal Ahmed for his bravery, patriotism, and professionalism. They stated that the nation and the police department will never forget his supreme sacrifice.
