Dera ghazi khan: Police successfully repulsed a drone attack targeting two police posts in Wahova area of Dera Ghazi Khan, forcing terrorists to flee after prompt retaliatory action, while one employee sustained minor injuries.
According to the police spokesperson, terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al-Khawarij attempted to target Jhangi police picket and Lakhani check-post with explosives dropped through drones. Three bombs were dropped at Jhangi picket, with one landing on its roof and two outside the post, while two bombs were dropped at Lakhani check post, one hitting the roof and the other falling in the courtyard.
One employee at Lakhani check-post sustained minor injuries in the attack. Police personnel immediately returned fire, compelling the attackers to retreat.
DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Sadiq Baloch, along with other police officers and personnel from Taunsa, reached the scene soon after the incident. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, while surveillance of suspected persons and routes in the area was intensified.
The DPO said police personnel were performing their duties with full vigilance, courage and determination. He said all necessary measures were being taken to protect the lives and property of citizens and prevent terrorists from achieving their designs.
