Peshawar: The district administration has stepped up monitoring of the ongoing anti-polio campaign here, with officials reviewing progress and the performance of field teams deployed across 103 union councils of the district.
The campaign, being conducted from September 21 to 27 under the supervision of the district administration, aims to administer polio drops to all children below five years of age.
A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Dawood Saleemi on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Capt (R) Sanaullah Khan.
The meeting reviewed progress on the campaign, activities being carried out by vaccination teams to reach children under five and the performance of field teams in different areas of the district.
Officials also discussed measures to make the campaign more effective and ensure that eligible children were administered polio drops during the campaign period.
The additional deputy commissioner directed the relevant officers to maintain effective field monitoring and take necessary steps to improve the campaign’s performance.
