KARACHI:Pakistan Red Crescent provided relief goods to 500 flood-affected families each in Larkana and Jacobabad.
The goods were distributed at Sheikh Zaid Colony Larkana and Saint Johns Grammar School Jacobabad by PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari.
MPA Muhammad Aslam Abro was also present on the occasion, said a news release on Thursday.
Shahid said that PRCS was devoted to serve humanity during difficult times, adding that providing relief to flood-affected population was the top priority of his organization.
The PRCS, he said, was serving every affected family regardless of their ethnicity and religion. It was making possible the provision of commodities, medical assistance, clean drinking water, hygiene kits and psycho-social support through relief activities.
“We are facing the biggest catastrophe in the history of the country. In collaboration with movement partners, the PRCS is making efforts for rescue and relief of the affected communities through systematic approach,” he said.
The PRCS chairman said the distribution of relief package in Larkana and Jacobabad was a part of the organisation’s initiatives. The Red Crescent would continue its work until the last victim was rehabilitated.
Earlier, Chairman of Larkana District Branch of PRCS Ahmed Mehmood Farooqi thanked Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari and the Red Crescent staff for providing relief to distressed families in Larkana.
