ISLAMABAD:The Muttahidda Sunni Council on Wednesday urged President Dr. Arif Alvi to sign the bill about the respect for Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), his households and companions.
Addressing a joint press conference along with religious scholars of various schools of thought, its Central Leader Maulana Qazi Abdul Rasheed said the bill had been passed by both houses of the Parliament a month ago and should have been given consent by the president.
He warned of protests if the bill remained unsigned, which might culminate in a march towards the Federal Capital. He announced that the next Friday would be marked as ‘protest day’.
