Progress of programs under Human Capital Investment reviewed

BAHAWALPUR: Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Sumera Rabani chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee held in the committee room of DC Office under the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project.

A briefing was given on the progress of Aaghosh, Buniyad, and Khudmukhtar programs. The programs by the Punjab government aim to improve health, economic prosperity, and standard primary education in 11 selected districts of Southern Punjab.

Deputy Director Development Faisal Shahzad, District Focal Person Punjab Human Capital Investment Project Taimur Shahbaz, Planning Officer Department of Education Malik Tariq, Majid Sattar Assistant Director (PHCIP), Hashim Akhtar Assistant Director (PHCIP), and officials from relevant departments were present in the meeting.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters instructed officials from relevant departments to take effective steps across the district to provide facilities for women’s improved health under the Human Capital Investment Project a
nd ensure accurate enrollment of women at health centers for the program.

They emphasized providing information on the benefits of the ongoing programs for women’s improved health. Deputy Director Development Faisal Shahzad mentioned that ongoing programs, including the Aaghosh Program under the Punjab Social Protection Authority, are still in progress.

Under this program, women who had incorrect entry of mobile numbers can visit any Bank of Punjab branch to correct their numbers so that their present amount can be transferred. Previously, District Focal Person of the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project Taimur Shahbaz briefed about the Punjab Social Protection Authority’s Aaghosh Program, stating that now enrollment for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers will be under the program at all health centers.

Enrollment cards for visits under the Aaghosh Program have also been provided so that women visiting health centers can be registered for record-keeping purposes.
