Lahore:Prosecutor General Punjab Syed Farhad Ali Shah has taken notice of the brutal murder of a woman named Zara, allegedly at the hands of her in-laws, and declared the case as high-profile.
He directed the authorities to expedite the investigation under the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service Act, 2006, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.
The prosecutor general summoned the investigating officer along with case records to review the progress. During the briefing, the officer provided updates on the investigation, assuring that the process is being conducted on merit and in accordance with the law.
The prosecutor general emphasized the need for police and prosecution to collaborate and utilize all resources to ensure justice is served swiftly.’This case will be made a model for justice,’ Shah said, adding that he is personally monitoring the proceedings as per the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The prosecutor general also reviewed case records, noting that a specifi
c line of inquiry was issued by the concerned prosecutor from the first day of the FIR’s registration. He instructed the authorities to arrest all accused at the earliest and complete the investigation without delay.
The investigating officer assured that the challan (charge sheet) would soon be submitted to the court. Shah reiterated the importance of cooperation between police and prosecutors in strengthening the criminal justice system.
The Zara murder case has garnered significant attention, with authorities pledging a thorough and transparent investigation.
