LARKANA:Provincial Minister for Information Azma Bukhari visited the Muharram Control Room here on Monday and directed to monitor Muharram activities thoroughly.
She said that the government was concentrating to provide full safety and security to Muharram activities.
She also checking the monitoring system in the control room and said that immediate steps should be taken to remove all kinds of security flaws highlighted by the media.
She said that the control room should remain active round the clock so that Ashura days could be observed in a most befitting manner. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh and City Police Officer (CPO) Kamran Adil jointly briefed the minister and that 387 hi-tech CCTV cameras were active across the district. These cameras were linked with the Muharram Control Room where a big-size LCD was installed to monitor all kinds of Muharram activities.
The said that live coverage would be ensured for important processions to be taken out in different parts including Markazi
Imam Bargah Dhubi Ghat, Chowk Clock Tower, etc.
They said that sufficient staff of Rescue 1122, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC), Municipal Corporation, police, SNGPL, PTCL, Civil Defense and other departments was deputed in Muharram Control Room. This staff would perform duties in three shifts and take prompt action after receiving public complaints or observing any suspect activities, they added.
