PSCA reunites two missing children with families

Lahore

LAHORE: Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) “Mera Pyara” team has traced the families of two children who had been missing for three and six years, respectively, and facilitated their reunions through social media.

The children, identified as Suleman and Saira, had been living at the Child Protection Bureau after being found in Lahore in 2023 and Gujranwala in 2020, respectively.

According to a PSCA spokesperson on Friday, the Mera Pyara team conducted several interviews with both children and searched different areas to trace their families. After initial efforts failed to establish their identities, the team shared their pictures and videos on social media.

Suleman’s paternal aunt, who was living in Depalpur, recognized him in a video shared on TikTok and contacted the Safe City team. His father and grandmother subsequently confirmed his identity.

Similarly, Saira’s uncle recognized her in the photographs shared by the team and contacted the authorities to identify her as his niece.

The Mera Pyara team facilitated meetings between both children and their family members. They would be handed over to their parents after completion of the necessary verification and legal formalities, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the Mera Pyara team was actively working to reunite missing children with their families.

Citizens can report missing or unclaimed children by calling emergency helpline 15 and pressing 3, the spokesperson added.
