Islamabad:The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, shedding 1,138.50 points, a negative change of 0.68 percent, to close at 167,441.91 points against 168,580.41 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 365.869 million shares, compared to 586.861 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs 17.722 billion from Rs 22.365 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs 18.597 trillion from Rs 18.747 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 130 posted gains, 324 suffered losses, while 42 remained unchanged.
K-Electric Ltd. led the volume chart with 29.662 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 21.323 million shares and Waves Home App with 16.919 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Baba Farid Sugar Mills Limited surged by Rs 35.26 to close at Rs 465.22, while Fateh Industries Limited advanced by Rs 26.22 to settle at Rs 288.38.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 280.00 to close at Rs 25,400.00, while Sazgar Engineering Works Limited fell by Rs 35.33 to Rs 1,591.47.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 97.929 million shares with a traded value of Rs 6.479 billion, compared with 174.910 million shares worth Rs 8.472 billion in the previous session.
Of the 293 companies traded in the DFC market, 36 advanced, 253 declined and 4 remained unchanged.
