PSX witnesses bullish trend, gains over 368 points

Islamabad: The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 368.92 points, a positive change of 0.22 percent, to close at 169,969.33 points against 169,600.41 points recorded in the previous trading session.



The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 591.234 million shares, compared to 568.040 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs20.191 billion from Rs20.812 billion.



Market capitalisation increased to Rs18.927 trillion from Rs18.890 trillion recorded a day earlier.



Out of 495 companies that traded in the ready market, 253 posted gains, 195 suffered losses, while 47 remained unchanged.



Pakistan International Bulk Terminal led the volume chart with 73.446 million shares, followed by Kohinoor Spinning with 58.387 million shares and Tasdeeq Information with 50.882 million shares.



Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs199.00 to close at Rs25,534.00, while Sapphire Textile Mills Limited advanced by Rs43.81 to settle at Rs1,521.05.



On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited B declined by Rs237.49 to close at Rs15,262.51, while Nestle Pakistan Limited fell by Rs202.29 to Rs7,156.59.



In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 121.265 million shares with a traded value of Rs5.495 billion, compared with 133.644 million shares worth Rs6.807 billion in the previous session.



Of the 295 companies traded in the DFC market, 158 advanced, 122 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
