ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman on Wednesday challenged his indictment before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the cipher case under the Official Secrets Act.
The PTI chief, in his petition, stated that his indictment was made in a haste by the trial court and it was a violation of Criminal Procedure 1898, and articles 4 and 10A of the Constitution.
He said that the charges could be framed after seven days of providing the copy of the challan to the defence, and prayed the court to set aside the indictment as it would be violation of fundamental rights if the trial is concluded in haste.
The PTI chief also prayed the court to terminate the order of trial court dated October 24.
