PTI’s Janjua gets bail in terrorism case

Islamabad

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted post arrest bail to PTI’s international media coordinator Ahmed Waqas Janjua in terrorism case.

The court instructed the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs200,000 to get bail.

A division bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Babar Sattar heard the post arrest bail petition of Janjua.

Petitioner’s lawyer argued that Mr. Janjau was lifted from his house and FIR was registered against him for recovery of Kalashnikov. He said that his client is PTI’s international medial cooridinator. They came to know about the arrest of Janua after a case was filed in high court for his recovery.

However, the prosecutor said that weapon is recovered from the accused and prayed the bench to dismiss his bail case. The court after hearing arguments accepted the bail petition.
