Lahore: Punjab Director General Food Amjad Hafeez has said that flour supply across the province is continuing normally, with sufficient stocks available in the market. According to a handout issued here on Thursday, he said flour supplies remained uninterrupted in all districts of Punjab on September 23, 2026.

The DG Food said flour mills across the province were operating normally and milling government wheat to provide 10kg flour bags at Rs 1,100 each.

A total of 226,882 10kg bags of flour produced from government wheat had so far been supplied to the market.

He said 288,723 10kg bags and 91,958 20kg bags of flour produced from privately procured wheat had also been supplied across the province.

Thus, a total of 699,521 10kg flour bags had been supplied to markets across Punjab, he added.

Amjad Hafeez said the Punjab government was continuously monitoring the situation to ensure an uninterrupted supply of flour to consumers.

All necessary measures were being taken to maintain flour availability and the supply chain, while flour mills across the province were operating normally.

He made it clear that no disruption in flour supplies would be allowed and its availability in the market would be ensured. The relevant authorities, he said, were taking action against hoarding and profiteering in accordance with the law.

The Punjab Food Safety Department was also effectively monitoring flour prices and market availability to ensure that consumers received flour at the prescribed price, he added.

The DG Food said ensuring a continuous, adequate and uninterrupted supply of flour to the public was the Punjab government’s top priority. He added that the demand, supply and price situation in the market was being continuously monitored.
