Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to create the province’s first digital vegetable and fruit market.
Official sources said that Lahore’s Kahna Kacha Mandi will be made a digital vegetable and fruit market where a digital monitoring system will be created.
A complete account of which vegetable or fruit came from which area and when did it would be reaching the market?
A complete record of this will be available, the entire process of auctioning vegetables and fruits will also be digitalized in the digital market, the data of all trucks coming to the market will be available on the Safe City dashboard.
Complete data of vegetable and fruit trucks will be available on one click, while complete data of supply and demand of essential items will also be compiled, digital rate list boards will be installed at different places in the market.
All the middlemen and vendors of the market will be registered and a record will be compiled, also data of wholesalers will also be compiled.
Kahna Kachha Mandi will be digitalized as a pilot project, the sources added.
