LAHORE:Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has sought clarification from the relevant authorities regarding reports of the discontinuation of the health insurance programme in the province. According to a spokesperson for the Health Department, all empanelled private hospitals have been directed to continue providing healthcare services to patients without interruption. The spokesperson said that necessary instructions had also been issued to Punjab Life Insurance Company Limited to ensure the smooth continuation of healthcare services under the programme. The spokesperson warned that strict legal action would be taken against empanelled private hospitals in case of any disruption to patients’ treatment under the health insurance programme.
