MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi, has said that education was the foundation of progress, prosperity and stability in any society, emphasizing that young people, particularly female students, can play a vital role in national development through modern education and skills aligned with contemporary needs.
He expressed these views while addressing the convocation ceremony of The Millennium Universal College as the chief guest. Former AJK president Sardar Masood Khan also addressed the ceremony.
The event was attended by Dr. Faisal Mushtaq (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), founder and CEO of The Millennium Universal College, the British Council’s country director, college faculty members and parents of students.
In his address, President Najeeb Khan said quality education not only creates opportunities for young people to succeed in practical life but also helps shape them into responsible citizens.
He stressed that educational institutions should focus not only on enhancing students’ academic abilities but also on promoting moral values, leadership qualities and creative thinking, enabling them to effectively meet future challenges.
Highlighting the achievements of female students, the AJK president said women’s education and empowerment were essential for the overall development of society. He noted that educated women were demonstrating their capabilities across various fields and making valuable contributions to national progress.
Congratulating the graduating students on their academic achievements, he expressed his best wishes for their bright futures and hoped they would use their knowledge and abilities to serve the country and the nation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Najeeb Khan distributed certificates among the successful female students. Their academic accomplishments were appreciated, and good wishes were extended for their future endeavours.
The president also congratulated the college principal and administration on their outstanding contributions to education and wished them continued success.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the venue, Dr. Faisal Mushtaq, accompanied by faculty members, welcomed the AJK president and presented him with a bouquet.
In his remarks, Dr. Mushtaq thanked the president for attending the ceremony and reaffirmed the college’s commitment to utilizing its full potential to provide students with modern educational facilities and opportunities, equipping them to address the challenges of the contemporary world.
