DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Station Commander Dera Brigadier Atif Hafeez Anjum on Tuesday underlined the need for instilling a sense of respect and importance for teachers in the young generation to evolve a civilized and knowledgeable society.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Gomal University Professor Dr. Shakilullah. Registrar Dr. Muhammad Shoaib and all heads of departments, professors, and administrative officers were also present on this occasion.
He said that since students were considered architects of a country’s future, teachers who played a key role in the healthy personality development of students by positively shaping their mindset should effectively prepare the young generation for the future role through quality education.
He was of the view that students, through their hard work and dedication could effectively contribute to the progress of the country and the prosperity and success of the nation.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shakilullah informed about the role of the university in promoting quality education, saying the increase in the number of students, which had now exceeded 20,000 and the significant inclusion of 40% female students, was giving testimony in this regard.
He also lauded the Pakistan Army for rendering supreme sacrifices to ensure peace in the country, saying their sacrifices were not hidden from anyone.
He also informed that free education was given to the children of martyrs in Gomal University so that we can reassure the families of the martyrs that every faculty member, officer, employee, and student of Gomal University stands with them and respects the sacrifices of their loved ones.
On this occasion, Gomal University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shakibullah presented an honorary shield to the Station Commander Brigadier Atif Hafeez Anjum on behalf of Gomal University while the Station Commander also presented him a souvenir. Later, he was also visited Gomal University campus.
