Rahman Baba Express track restored for traffic

District

MULTAN:The down track was restored for both up and down train traffic on Tuesday night, a Pakistan Railways spokesperson said.

Repair work on the track was carried out speedily, while train operations were being managed under traffic engineering arrangements. The railway authorities made necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of trains.

It is pertinent to note that at least 14 coaches of the Karachi-to-Peshawar Rahman Baba Express derailed near Sher Shah Railway Station on Monday, leaving five passengers dead and 41 others injured.

The railway minister ordered an inquiry into the incident, which will be conducted on October 17 and 18 at the Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent’s Office in Multan.
