RAWALPINDI:The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has finalised arrangements for Ashura besides completing patchwork at the routes of mourning processions.
According to the RCB spokesman, the board’s anti-encroachment team was conducting operations on daily basis to clear different areas from where the Muharram processions would pass.
He informed the RCB had completed arrangements for Muharram particularly in areas of Imam Bargah Qaser-e-Shabbir Dhoke Syedan, Imam Bargah Shah Pyara Chor Chowk, Imam Bargah Qaser-e-Abbas Allama Iqbal Colony, Imam Bargah Raja Akram Road near Qasim Market, Imam Bargah near Allied Bank Chor Chowk, Imam Bargah Ziarat Shah Pyara, main Tench Road and other areas.
The roads had been repaired while patchwork has also been completed besides completing repair work of faulty street lights. Cleanliness operation had also been completed, he added.
Moreover, the RCB confiscated several truckloads of goods under its special operation against encroachments conducted during last week.
The spokesman said RCB’s anti-encroachment teams, on the directives of Cantonment Executive Officer, conducted raids in different areas including Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony, Dhoke Syedan, Bakra Mandi Road, Masrial Road, Allahabad, Westridge Bazar, Mehfooz Road, Haider Road, Bank Road, Adam Jee Road, Hathi Chowk, Chor Chowk, Saddar and other areas.
