Mirpur (ajk):Rescue 1122 Mirpur conducted the training session of a three-day emergency preparedness programme at Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), the second consecutive day on Thursday as part of the Disaster and Accident Awareness Week campaign.
reporter correspondent reports from Mirpur that the students from the departments of Law, International Relations, Mass Communication, BBA, BS English, Sociology, Education and Islamic Studies participated in the session.
The Rescue 1122 training team provided participants with theoretical and practical training in first aid, immediate response to emergencies, fire safety, disaster preparedness, safe evacuation and precautionary measures during emergencies.
Practical demonstrations were also conducted to familiarize students with procedures for dealing with different emergency situations and adopting safe practices during accidents and disasters.
The session also highlighted the role of Rescue 1122 and the importance of timely, effective and responsible response to emergencies. The programme aims to enhance students’ emergency response skills, safety awareness and preparedness for natural and other disasters to help minimize loss of life and property.
The concluding session of the three-day training programme will be held on Friday- October 9.
