SARGODHA:Rescue-1122 conducted a mock exercise at Langarwala pul [bridge] near bank of River Jhelum on Sunday in its preparations to deal with possible flood situation.
A Rescue-1122 team, along with teams of various department including health, agriculture, civil defence and livestock, demonstrated their skills and preparations for dealing with the expected flood hazards.
Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Imran Qureshi was the chief guest at the exercise. Assistant Commissioner Sahiwal Shahid Bashir Dar also watched the exercise.
Stalls were also set up by the Civil Defence, Health Department, Livestock as well as welfare organisations.
District Emergency Officer Dr Mazhar Shah briefed the deputy commissioner about the flood preparedness of Rescue-1122 workers and informed him of the most flood-prone places in Sargodha.
The Rescue-1122 personnel also set up stalls at the incident command post, where deputy commissioner was briefed on the functionality and use of flood and medical equipment.
