HYDERABAD: A third incident of robbery of looting cash from citizens returning from withdrawing cash and gold from the banks has occurred here Monday in a span of 3 days.
According to the police, a contractor Inayat Ali Memon was robbed of his Rs.2.5 million cash when he was returning in his car with his mother after withdrawing cash from a private bank’s branch in Qasimabad.
The police said 4 robbers riding on 2 motorbikes intercepted Memon near his residence in State Life Colony and took away cash at gunpoint.
The incident’s initial complaint has been lodged at Bhittai Nagar police station.
The police said they had started an investigation of the incident.
Earlier on Friday, a trader and a manager of a coal company were robbed of their cash and gold in the limits of B-Section and Fort police stations.
In the first incident the robbers looted gold worth around Rs.2.5 million from the trader Nisar Ahmed Qureshi and in the second incident Rs.500, 000 cash was robbed from Abdul Rehman.
The police are yet to arrest the culprits and recover the stolen cash and gold.
