Karachi: The Chairman of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, Dr Asim Hussain, has inaugurated the Robotic Surgery Program at the Department of Surgery in Dr Ziauddin Hospital, here on Saturday.
While talking to media persons and addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Asim Hussain said that robotic surgery is not only the future of the country but also the world. He said that the inauguration of the Robotic Surgery Program at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital is a milestone.
Dr Asim Hussain said we were striving for better technology in the health sector and we have achieved it. He claimed that Dr Ziauddin Hospital was the first private hospital to start CT scans in the hospital compared to other private hospitals. It also began MRI and has now launched the Robotic Surgery Program in the hospital.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Executive of Dr Ziauddin Hospital Dr Amaad Hussain, said that Robotic surgery started in Pakistan in 2011 or 2012. He said that Pakistan has around 10 robots so far for surgical purposes.
Hussain said that Robotic Surgery has more effectivity. He said that two successful surgeries have been performed so far in the hospital. He further said that healthcare advancement will keep ongoing in the private sector of the country.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Haris Rashid said we have very historic day today because we are starting robotic surgery at Ziauddin Hospital. He said that robotic surgery is also beneficial for the surgeon, besides patients.
Earlier, the Chairman of Dr Ziauddin Hospital, Dr Asim Hussain, inaugurated the Robotic Surgery Program by unveiling a plaque at the Department of Surgery.
