SIALKOT:Deputy Commissioner Adnan Mehmood Awan has said that a request has been made to the Punjab government for the release of Rs 2 billion funds to ensure the early completion of ongoing road projects including Wazirabad Road and Pasrur Road.
Tenders will be issued soon after approval of PC1 for a Sports Goods/Materials Testing Lab in the Export Processing Zone. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the District Coordination Committee for Trade and Industries, Sialkot. The meeting was attended by President Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Abdul Ghafoor Malik, Vice President SCCI Amir Majeed Sheikh, Ejaz Ghori, District Officer (DO) Industries Rashida Batool, District Officer (DO) Environment Wasim Cheema, Depty Director (DD) Labour Tayyab Work, DSP Traffic Muhammad Qasim, Deputy Director Agriculture Dr. Sajjad, District Food Controller (DFC) Nasrullah, SDO Highway Saim, Assistant Director (AD) Technical Mohsin Ali Jillani and Social Welfare Officer Malik Adnan.
Deputy Commissioner Adnan Mehmood Awan said that courses should be launched, including e-business, which are competitive with job demands in the market.
He said that the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry should provide support in introducing such courses in Sialkot. He that tenders will be floated in November for the implementation of the Safe City project and Municipal Corporation Sialkot has completed the tendering process for traffic signals to control traffic and the installation of signals will be started soon.
He said that a countdown schedule for the transfer of tanneries to the tannery zone has been issued to control environmental pollution, in which deadlines have been issued for the approval of the map, commencement of construction work and installation of tannery machinery after completion.
