Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has intensified door-to-door and street-level awareness activities to promote cleanliness and a healthy environment under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Clean Punjab Programme, the RWMC spokesman said on Thursday.
As part of the campaign, RWMC’s communication team organised a special awareness drive in Millat Colony, Union Council 42, urging residents to cooperate with sanitation staff, keep their surroundings clean and spread the message of cleanliness within their communities.
Residents were briefed on the procedure for registering complaints to ensure the timely identification and resolution of sanitation-related issues. Information pamphlets were also distributed to facilitate public engagement.
Meanwhile, RWMC field operations were continuing uninterrupted despite harsh weather conditions. The company’s workforce is carrying out early-morning manual sweeping, waste lifting, door-to-door collection, de-silting of drains, removal of
soil from roads and water sprinkling under its Zero Waste City commitment, the spokesman said.
He said providing a clean environment was a shared responsibility between the institution and citizens, appealing to residents to support sanitation workers by disposing of waste in designated bins.
