Lahore: Punjab Minister for Health and Emergency Services Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the government is further improving the quality of emergency services in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
He expressed these views during his special visit to the Rescue Command and Control Center here on Wednesday, where he reviewed the emergency services and related arrangements.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Punjab government deserved credit for ensuring timely medical treatment to hundreds of patients through the air ambulance service. He said emergency services were also being provided on the motorway to facilitate citizens.
The minister said the Emergency Services Department had been equipped with modern machinery worth billions of rupees, while new ambulances had also been procured to ensure timely provision of emergency services to the public.
He said Rescue 1122 was an institution that alleviated the suffering of citizens and protected lives and property during emergencies. The services rendered by Rescue 1122 had enhanced the prestige of the institution and the province not only in Punjab but across the country, he added.
District Emergency Officer Lahore Dr Rizwan Chaudhry, Mohsin Durrani and other officials were present on the occasion.
