SIALKOT: The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held a seminar on “City-wide partnership for sustainable water use and water stewardship”, in collaboration with the World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Pakistan) to brief the industry of Sialkot on the environmental problems of the city, particularly those pertaining to water and energy stewardship.
The session was chaired by SCCI President Mian Imran Akbar. Chairman Departmental Committee on Environmental/ PHA Syed Ahtesham Mazhar Gillani was also present.
The seminar focused on “Situational analysis of water resources of Sialkot and potential of rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge” in the city. Major water issues and their solutions were also highlighted by Coordinator Project ILES, WWF-Pakistan Adeel Younas.
