SIALKOT:Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI),Asad Naseer Malik, on Monday attended a meeting of the District Consumer Protection Council,Sialkot,held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) (Municipal Corporation),Mian Sarmad Hussain.
The participants were briefed on the role and responsibilities of the Council under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act, 2005 with particular emphasis on provisions relating to disclosure of product and service information,display of price lists at business premises,issuance of consumer receipts and action against violations.
The meeting also discussed measures to digitalize consumer complaint services,raise public awareness,ensure compliance with statutory requirements and improve the overall effectiveness of the Council.
The participants emphasized the need to strengthen consumer protection mechanisms and ensure effective implementation of relevant laws to safeguard consumer rights across the district.
