Quetta:Local Government (LG) Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch on Friday directed concerned officials to complete ongoing development projects soon for provision of facilities to public in Hub district.
He expressed these views while talking to the local government officers during the inspection of the ongoing development schemes under the public sector development program on the occasion of visit to District Hub.
Local Government Secretary inspected the ongoing development projects of street, tough tile, sewerage system in Hub Town including Komal City Jangi Khan Goth Lasi Street Hindu Mohalla and Rauf Colony.
Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Hub Syed Saleem Shah and Engineer Nasir Mumtaz briefed the Secretary regarding the progress on ongoing development projects in Hub Town district.
He said in the briefing that out of 22 schemes approved under PSDP, 20 have been tendered, 17 schemes for providing municipal services are under implementation and three have been completed.
The establishment of an environme
nt-friendly park for the entertainment of the citizens in Hub district is also included in the development plans, he said.
Secretary Local Government also gave orders to the officers on the spot for the provision of municipal services and timely completion of development projects.
He also held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Hub Ruhana Gul Kakar regarding the ongoing development projects in the district.
The Secretary also visited Birth and Death Certificate Issuance Registration Center under the supervision of Municipal Corporation and reviewed the procedure related to issue of computerized birth certificate link with NADRA.
Adil Bashir Mundra, Taxation Officer of Local Government Department briefed the Local Government Secretary that computerized registration of 10,000 children has been done since the birth registration center was established.
Earlier, Chairman District Council Ibrahim Duda and Chairman Municipal Corporation Hub Wadira Babu Faiz Sheikh met Municipal Secretary on the occasion of the
visit.
He also chaired the meeting related to departmental affairs and discussed issues related to tax enforcement to generate financial income resources for local government bodies under the Local Government Act.
