LARKANA:The police department finalized a security plan for the 9th of Muharram (Tuesday).
It will depute 5 Superintendents Police (SPs), 19 Deputy Superintendents Police (DSPs), 14 Inspectors, 85 Sub Inspectors (SIs), 373 Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs), 157 Head Constables and 2143 constables/lady constables for Muharram security in the district.
A police spokesman said here Monday that 138 Majalis and 93 mourning processions would be arranged on the 9th day of Muharram-ul-Haraam. He said that 40 Majalis would be held in Jaranwala Division, 32 in Iqbal Division, 27 in Saddar Division, 22 in Madina Division and 17 Majlis in Lyallpur Division whereas 26 processions would be taken out from Iqbal Division, 22 from Jaranwala Division, 19 from Madina Division, 19 from Saddar Division and 7 processions from Lyallpur Division.
He said that the police would provide four-layer security to the mourning processions at all places. In the first circle volunteers would conduct body search and check the identification o
f the participants while walk-through gates and metal detectors would be used at the third security circle. In other two circles, the security personnel would watch and keep a vigilant eye on suspects and miscreants.
Teams of Elite Force and Dolphin Force would also patrol different parts of the district to avert any untoward incident, the spokesman added.
