Bahawalpur: More than 155 police officers and personnel have been deployed across Bahawalpur district to provide security during the anti-polio campaign.
According to an official press release issued here, comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place for the ongoing anti-polio campaign in the district.
‘The officials have been directed to provide a safe and peaceful environment for all citizens, particularly polio workers performing their duties during the campaign,’ it said, adding that in line with the policy of the Inspector General of Police Punjab regarding the maintenance of public peace and foolproof security arrangements, the anti-polio campaign is underway in Bahawalpur, as in the rest of Punjab.
On the occasion, the DPO Bahawalpur directed police officers to ensure that Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) regularly monitor and check the security arrangements for polio teams. He emphasized that the safety of polio workers, who are performing their duties in the public interest and in accordance with government directives, remains the police’s top priority.
