MULTAN:The Horticulture Agency Multan has established a seed library at Eidgah Park Triangle to promote tree plantation, conserve indigenous tree species and raise public awareness about environmental protection.
Managing Director Horticulture Agency Multan Syed Waseem Hassan inaugurated the facility, where tree seeds were also distributed among the public.
Director Horticulture Agency Hafiz Naeem Abbas was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Syed Waseem Hassan said the primary objective of the seed library was to provide free tree seeds to citizens and encourage them to grow trees at their homes, educational institutions and other suitable places.
He said the initiative would promote plantation, help preserve local tree species, reduce environmental pollution, expand green cover and contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
The MD said the agency also aimed to create awareness, particularly among the younger generation, about the importance of trees and environmental conservation.
‘Our message is: One Seed, One Tree, a Greener Multan,’ he said, urging citizens to join hands in making the city greener, cleaner and healthier.
