RAWALPINDI:Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was arrested on Tuesday after the Anti-Terrorism Court(ATC) rejected his bail in a case pertaining to the May 9 incidents.
The former minister appeared before ATC Judge Malik Asif Ejaz, who dismissed his plea for bail.
Talking to the media, Rashid’s counsel Sardar Abdul Razzak said that his client had attained bail in 12 out of 13 cases pertaining to the May 9 incidents.
He said Sheikh Rashid was taken into custody outside the court after his bail was rejected in a case of an attack on the office of an sensitive institution on May 9.
