Tank: Six police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting a police armored vehicle in the Gomal area of Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Tank, Shabbir Hussain Shah, the blast occurred around 25 kilometres from Kot Wali when an IED detonated near the police armored vehicle, completely destroying it. The vehicle was en route from Gomal to Tank at the time of the attack.
The martyred personnel have been identified as SHO Ishaq, ASI Sher Alam, Shafi, Hazrat Ali, Ehsanullah, and driver Majid. Following the incident, Rescue 1122 teams were dispatched to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to nearby hospitals.
Security forces reached the area immediately after the blast, cordoned off the surroundings, and launched a search operation to apprehend those responsible.
