RAJANPUR: Rajanpur city police seized several cartons of non-custom-paid cigarettes valuing Rs 1.5 million during a routine patrolling duty here Thursday and handed it over to the Customs department.
Operations against smugglers were continuing as per standing orders of DPO Captain (retired) Dost Muhammad, police spokesman said adding a patrolling police team spotted a dubious car, LE-6306, and stopped it.
During checking, police recovered cartons containing 8100 packets of cigarettes, all imported brands valuing around Rs 1.5 million, from the vehicle.
