Lahore: The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has intensified cleanliness operations across the city to ensure improved sanitation at public areas under Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s ‘Suthra Punjab’ vision.
On the directions of LWMC Chief Executive Officer Sheryar Arif Khan, SPAL’s operational teams carried out washing of overhead bridges, footpaths and road dividers at various areas across the city.
Sanitation workers have also been deployed at bus stops, bus terminals, railway stations, passenger facilities and other public places.
Sanitation staff were engaged in mechanical and manual sweeping along major roads and in commercial markets. Mechanical sweeping and washing operations were continuing in both day and night shifts. Manual scraping and mechanical sweeping were also being carried out at U-turns and service lanes along major boulevards.
More than 950 kilometres of roads were being covered through mechanical sweeping every day, while mechanical washing was being carried out over more than 150km daily.
Providing better sanitation facilities to citizens remained the top priority of SPAL.
