Special representative of World Bank visits VRI

LAHORE:Special Representative of World Bank Jian Carlo on Thursday visited Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) and reviewed steps of the Livestock department to control lumpy skin disease.

 

According to official sources here, Jian Carlo said that effective measures had been taken by the Livestock department to control lumpy skin disease.

 

He also appreciated the role of vaccination production, disease reporting and communication department.

 

Special Representative said that the disease could be controlled through imposing ban on transportation of animals and by adopting an effective vaccination strategy.

 

Livestock Director General said, “We want to work with World Bank in areas of vaccination production and disease surveillance.”

 

Jian Carlo also visited vaccine production units and quality control cell.

 

The Special Representative would also visit different areas of Punjab to review ground realities.
