Sukkur: The 26th Progress Review and Strategic Planning meeting for the ongoing Sindh Government funded Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects was held at the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) Head Office here on Friday.
The meeting, presided over by SRSO CEO Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro, aimed to discuss project progress, identify challenges, and outline future plans.
The CEO appreciated the teamwork, stating, “I am pleased with the remarkable progress made by the team in implementing the SPHF and WASH projects. Your dedication and commitment to delivering results are truly commendable.” He emphasized enhancing performance according to strategic plans, adding that let us continue to work together to overcome challenges and achieve our goals, ultimately benefiting the communities we serve.
The meeting was attended by SRSO Team Leader, Regional General Managers (RGMs), District Managers (DMs), Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) Senior Manager, Core, and other team members.
The SPHF project has made significant progress, with over 1.25 million houses under construction and 500,000 homes already completed, providing shelter to communities devastated by recent floods. The project aims to construct 2.1 million multi-hazard-resistant homes, benefiting over 15 million people.
The WASH project focuses on improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in flood-affected areas. The initiative has provided WASH facilities to 3,700 villages and 314,000 households, ensuring 1.5 million people gain access to clean water and proper sanitation.
