Students sensitized about dengue; preventive measures

PESHAWAR:The district administration on Wednesday conducted an awareness session at Islamia Collegiate School here, and sensitised the students about the precautionary and preventive measures.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Aafaq Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief Muhammad Imran Khan visited Islamia Collegiate School Urdu Medium Branch at University of Peshawar and delivered a lecture on dengue fever and the preventive measures.

The students asked questions from the ADC which replied accordingly. Later, pamphlets were distributed amongst the students.

Meanwhile, the ADC and Coordinator Emergency Response Unit (ERU) for Polio Eradication and Immunization Muhammad Imran Khan visited Motorway M-1 Toll Plaza along with Polio teams, volunteers of civil defence and vaccinated 157 children against the crippling disease while 14 refusals and 6 chronic PMCs were also convince for the vaccination of their children.

Moreover the passengers of public transports were sensitised about the importance of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) for all children upto five years.

The ADC directed the drivers to ensure vaccinations of all the children onboard in the concerned bus terminals.
