ISLAMABAD:In a joint operation, Islamabad Capital Police (ICP) Shahzad Town and Homicide Unit teams have arrested two accused allegedly involved in a murder case, recovering weapon used in the crime from their possession.
According to a police spokesman on Monday, a citizen on September 15, 2023, lodged an application with Shahzad Town police station stating that his son Usama Noor was shot and dead by an accused namely Shahzaib.
The police following the application registered an FIR against the alleged murderer and subsequently constituted a team to investigate the matter. The police team utilized all available resources used technical and scientific methods and arrested the accused namely Shahzaib and his accomplice a lady.
The police team also recovered a pistol with the ammunition used in the crime from their possession, while further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan appreciated the performance of the police teams and further directed all officers to intensify the crackdown against the criminal elements. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard,” quoted the spokesman ICCPO as saying.
