Lahore:Suspects who blackmailed a student through social media friendship have been arrested.
According to the details, the student filed a complaint at the Virtual Women Police Station via chat on the Women Safety App. The student became friends with two girls on social media, who deceitfully arranged a meeting with two boys. The boys then deceitfully took photos and videos of the student and started blackmailing her. The girl alleged that the suspects harassed her on her way to college, threatened to kill her, and warned of making her photos viral on social media.
According to the Safe Cities spokesperson, the Virtual Women Police Station facilitated the student in contacting the police and identifying the boys.
Sialkot Police acted promptly and arrested the suspects. The police took the suspects into custody, registered a case, and initiated legal proceedings.
