Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan (MMAP) member Aliya Kamran said that the budget for 2024-25 would not bring any relief to common people. She urged that the National Finance Commission (NFC) award should be revised.
Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) member Ali Muhammad Khan said that parliament, representing the will of the people, has the right to discuss all issues confronting the country.
He said that all political parties should work to protect the interests of the country, putting aside party and personal interests. ‘We should commit in the parliament that we would always prioritise the supreme interest of the country,’ he added.
He asked the government to work towards an interest-free economy.
Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) Tariq Hussain Shah appreciated the finance minister for presenting a balanced budget despite the difficult economic situation. He said that the salaried class should be provided more relief.

urged the government to allocate more funds for the education and health sectors.
He warned that the youth of the country should be a focus of the budget, otherwise, they could be entrapped by terrorists, extremists and drug dealers. He also highlighted the issues of his constituency and asked the federal government to allocate more funds for health and education in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz member Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar mentioned that she won the by-elections with a majority vote in Daska, defeating the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate. She praised the esteemed finance team led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for presenting the best budget in a difficult economic condition.
She condemned the SIC for using objectionable language in the parliament.
Sunni Ittehad Council member Shandana Gulzar Khan expressed disappointment that no women parliamentarians spoke against her arrest. She said that she always fought for the rights of the people on all forums.
She criticised the proposal of taxes on charity hospitals, computers, and stationery. She highlighted the issues of her constituency and stressed that education for women is important for a prosperous Pakistan.
